Continuous effort in engaging a multitude of stakeholders
The construction of Route Wide System and Commissioning (CWB-CC) is Leighton Asia’s third contract of the 10 major contract packages in the Central Wanchai Bypass project, following the completed Central Reclamation Phase III and Central Interchange.
Located in the CBD of Hong Kong across three busy districts, the CWB-CC project has prioritised stakeholder engagement.
We are always mindful of the impact of our works on the community, and we are determined to deliver safe and quality projects that create value to our stakeholders.
The project’s stakeholders include major government departments, international banks, five-star hotels and local residential communities. Not to mention two underground metro lines running below the site, and the construction work of a new metro line (Shatin to Central Link) that is also underway.
“Our key to good stakeholder engagement is being proactive in identifying and engaging the people affected by the project right from the planning stage of our work.”
For this, the team established focus groups covering community liaison, stakeholders and traffic management to ensure the needs of different stakeholders were addressed and derive a fair and optimal project solution.
“We have also enhanced our communication channels and increased the transparency of the project’s progress through regular community liaison meetings and events, along with a Community Liaison Centre that provides the latest information about project to the public.”
