The annual Christmas gift exchange has long been a tradition for Leighton Asia’s Deep Tunnel Sewerage System Phase 2 Project – Contract T-09. However, this year the project decided to donate the collective sum that would be used to buy gifts for each other for those in need.
With a total donation of around SGD 1,445 from T-09 project staff, the project committee put together 18 gift bags for children between the ages of 6-18. These children are under the care of the Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS), a home-grown voluntary welfare body founded in 1962 that provides services for the intellectually disabled.
Gift bags contain snacks, back-to-school supplies and an item on the children’s wish list.
The team also donated essential items such as nutritional meal supplements and adult diapers for the elderlies under MIND’s care.
We are very grateful to all the kind-hearted staff who made donations. We hope to continue spreading joy and giving those in need a helping hand through similar endeavours in 2023 as well.
