Leighton Asia’s Caring Team in Hong Kong took part in The Community Chest (The Chest) New Territories Walk for Millions 2022 – Cross Bay Link on Sunday, 20 November 2022, in a bid to raise funds for Family and Child Welfare Services supported by the Chest. The team comprised around 125 members of Hong Kong staff, their families and friends.
Officiated by Chan Kwok-ki, Chief Secretary for Administration and others, the charity walk attracted more than 200 teams and around 15,000 people to participate.
This year’s event marks the return of in-person Walk for Millions for the first time since the outbreak of the pandemic. The last time it was held was in 2019 along the new Central-Wan Chai Bypass, which was constructed by Leighton Asia.
This year, the 6 km long walk route started from Tseung Kwan O and passed by the East Ventilation Building of Leighton Asia’s Tseung Kwan O-Lam Tin Tunnel (TKO-LTT) project, and further onto the new Cross Bay Link Marine Viaduct.
Together with the Cross Bay Link, the TKO-LTT will be commissioned on 11 December 2022 to improve the transport network and alleviate the traffic demand in the district.
Thank you to all participants for their time and contribution to giving back to the community and demonstrating our caring team spirit.
