Australian International School
Leighton was responsible for the design and construction of the new Australian International School located at the junction of Waterloo Road and Norfolk Road, Kowloon.
The school comprisd both primary and secondary teaching facilities in a 10-storey building which features 27 classrooms, workshop laboratories, offices, an auditorium and two gymnasia. Also included are a rooftop swimming pool, a football pitch, a covered carpark and additional playground areas.
This state-of-the-art project was completed in August 2001.
The school was awarded the prestigious Hong Kong Institute of Architects 2001 Medal of the Year for design excellence.
