Donggi-Senoro LNG Site Preparation

Leighton Asia has delivered the design and construction of plant site preparation works and associated civil for Donggi Senoro LNG.

Our works included earthworks (2.5million m3 of bulk excavation, 1.4million m3 of filling and 1.2m m3 to disposal), slope protection, drainage and internal roads.

Site Preparation included the mobilisation of equipment by landing craft, site establishment and clearance, with 3.25 million bank cubic metres of material moved to create platforms for the LNG plant and supporting Infrastructure.

The associated works also include 2.5km of dump drainage and 1.0km of site stormwater drainage pipes; culverts and outfalls, 2.0 km of gravel roads and approx 200,000 sqm of stone pitching to slope protection on batters and terracing. Included in the mobilization was the construction of a 250man labour camp and offices and workshop facilities for up to 100 staff and workshop personnel. 

Much of the work carried out using a fleet of 40-tonne articulated dump trucks and 45- and 85-tonne excavators; we employed circa 450 people at the peak of the project.
